William D. "Dan" Risinger, 61, of Blairsville, PA (Black Lick Twp.) passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013 at home with his family at his side. The son of William C. and Geraldine (London) Risinger, he was born June 11, 1952 in Indiana, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Linda L. (Lindsey) Risinger on July 11, 2012 and his parents. William was a partner of Risinger Landscaping Supplies and Excavating proudly serving Indiana County and surrounding counties since 1993. He was best known for giving more than what you paid for. In Williams younger years, he worked for Davis Trucking and prior to owning the landscaping company he owned his own trucking business, William D. Risinger General Hauling. He also did mechanic and welding services. He enjoyed hunting, horseback riding and spending time with his family. William leaves behind his beloved children, Jeff Pittard and wife, Rebecca Pizer of Indiana; Lindsey Risinger and Ryan Keener of Blairsville and Nick Risinger and Lexy Coleman of Indiana; three grandchildren, Zachary Michael Hafer, Allison Pizer and Emilee Risinger; mother-in-law, Theresa Lindsey of Indiana; stepmother, Ressie Risinger of Indiana and his four legged children, Magnum and Flurry. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A service to celebrate William's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at The Summit Church, Indiana, PA with Rev. Dick Motzing officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Center Twp., PA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana County Humane Society or to the VNA Family Hospice of Indiana County.
