Margaret Magdalene (Metalla) Stein, 85, of Ebensburg, PA formerly of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Conemaugh Medical Center, Johnstown, PA.A daughter of Joseph and Anna (Lupjo) Metalla, she was born April 27, 1925 in Center Twp., PA.Mrs. Stein was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville.She worked for Taurus Manufacturing, Blairsville, retiring in 1984.Surviving are a son, W. Shane Stein and his wife, Mary of Blairsville; two grandchildren, Shayne and Shannon Stein; a brother, Frank Metalla of Black Lick; a sister, Helen Greenman of St. Louis, MO and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William A. Stein in 1984; four brothers, Mike, John, Joseph and Rudy Metalla and two sisters, Anna Kuzma and Mary DeAndrea.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, where a Wake service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Thursday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday in SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Cemetery, Blairsville.
