Mamie L. (Gibson) Williams, 96, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at her home.A daughter of Hubert and Evelina (Brown) Gibson, she was born November 22, 1914 in Pelham, Georgia.Mrs. Williams lived most of her life in the Blairsville area and was a member of the Second Baptist Church, Blairsville.Surviving are five children, a son, Kendall Williams of Newport, NC; four daughters, Leila Bass of Black Lick; Mamie Dennison of Blairsville; Ida Jenkins of Johnstown and Rita Graves of Blairsville; adopted daughter, Dolores White of Pittsburgh; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Northington of Chicago, IL and Vivian Dilworth of Chicago, IL.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James H. "Boots" Williams, Sr. on February 27, 1991; five sons, David, Willie Edward, James H. Jr., Phillip G. and Ronald B. Williams; two daughters, Betty Jane Richardson and Perle Dennison; four brothers, John, Clemon, Dan and Hubert Gibson and a sister, Ruby Canty. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Second Baptist Church, Blairsville, with Rev. Ronnie C. Morris, Sr. officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
