Velma "Cookie" Vargo, 89, formerly of Blairsville, PA passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe, PA.A daughter of Louis B. and Mary Vargo, she was born October 6, 1922.Ms. Vargo grew up in the Black Lick area and worked in the Cleveland, OH area for many years before moving to Blairsville in 1992.She attended Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral site.Surviving is one niece, Sharon Constantin of Gainesville, FL.She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ernest and Louis Vargo; a half-brother, Andrew Vargo and a half-sister, Irene Vargo.There will be no visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Our Lady of the Assumption, Coral site, with Fr. Terry Hercik as celebrant.Interment will follow in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA
