Betty Lou (Smith) Ross, 82, of Derry, PA (Hillside) passed away on Monday, August 15, 2011 at her home.A daughter of Vencle and Virginia A. (Reitz) Smith, she was born June 18, 1929 in Hillside, PA.Mrs. Ross was a member of the Latrobe Presbyterian Church, Latrobe.She enjoyed working in her yard.Surviving are her friend and companion for 33 years, Antonio "Tom" Carbonara of Latrobe; two brothers, Vince Smith and wife, Nancy of Greensburg and Dwain Smith and wife, Cricket of Latrobe and a sister Phyllis Bridge of Latrobe.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Seraphine Ross in 1976.As per Betty's wishes, there will be no visitation or service.Interment will be in Coles Cemetery, Derry, PA.Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA is in charge of the arrangements.
