Gerald Halldin, Jr., 45 of Blairsville, PA passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2011 in Conemaugh Twp. as the result of an automobile accident.A son of Gerald Halldin, Sr. and Darlene R. (Cunkelman) Halldin Kimball, he was born July 12, 1966 in Latrobe, PA.Gerald graduated from Tampa Bay Vocational Technical High School, Tampa, FL in 1984 and was an avid drag racing fan.He was employed by Dlubak Corp., Blairsville.Surviving are his mother Darlene R. (Cunkelman) Kimball and stepfather, Douglas R. Kimball of Blairsville; aunt, Patricia Cunkelman of Blairsville with whom he resided most of his life; a daughter, Taylor Ann Halldin of Pinellas Park, FL; a brother, Josh Halldin of Blairsville; a sister, Tisha Cochran of Blairsville and a half-brother, Jesse Halldin of Morgantown, WV.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Edith (Patti) Cunkelman.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A Prayer service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with Fr. Chester J. Raimer officiating.Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
