Ralph S. Lichtenfels, 80, of Indiana, PA passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.A son of Paul and Lillian (Murphy) Lichtenfels, he was born April 28, 1931 in West Wheatfield Twp., PA.Mr. Lichtenfels was a member of the First Christian Church, Indiana, PA.He worked for George Cline as a mechanic from 1953 to 1962 and worked for North Cambria Fuel Co. for 15 years. He was a fire warden at Clairvaux Commons.He was a jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed playing pool.Surviving are his wife, Charlotte S. (Pierce) Lichtenfels whom he married April 9, 1953; a son, Wayne Lichtenfels and wife, Erin of Latrobe; a daughter, Carol Fairman of Indiana; a grandchild, Krystal Allen; a brother, Thomas Lichtenfels of Norman, OK and two sisters, Blanche Stuchel of Shelocta and Sara Shirley of Indiana.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Susan Kitzmiller Sullinger.The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Hoch officiating.Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Clyde, PA.Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund, 5th and Water St., Indiana, PA 15701
