Robert Edward Long, 74, formerly of Strangford, PA passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PA.A son of Walter A. and Mary E. (Potts) Long, he was born June 18, 1936 in Blairsville, PA.Mr. Long lived his entire life in Strangford and was a member of the Strangford United Methodist Church.Surviving are a sister, Mary Lou Koreni of Strangford; a brother, David P. Long of Strangford and a nephew, Michael Koreni of Strangford.He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Walter James Long and a brother-in-law, Steve Koreni.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Brett M. Dinger officiating.Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
