Dale Bradford Dunlap, Sr., 81, of Clarksburg, PA passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.A son of Malcolm E. and Thelma (Welch) Dunlap, he was born November 25, 1929 in Derry Twp., PA.Mr. Dunlap was a member of the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church where he served as a trustee. He was also a member of the Saltsburg American Legion Post #57, Indiana County Dairy Herd Improvement Group and the Pennsylvania Farmers Association.He was an avid reader, loved to hunt and enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren how to hunt.He served in the Army during the Korean War and was a self-employed dairy farmer.Surviving are his wife, Patricia E. (Smith) Dunlap whom he married July 1, 1955; daughter, Corinne A. "Cori" Mattern and husband, Dale of Clarksburg and son, Dale "Brad" Dunlap, Jr. and wife, Michelle of Clarksburg; four grandchildren, Aaron R. Eaton, Daniel Dunlap, Michael Dunlap and Timothy Dunlap; sister, Martha Keith of Fort Mills, SC; brother, Malcolm Dunlap, Jr. of Youngstown, PA and two stepsisters, Janet Walker and husband, Norman of Torrance, PA and Roberta Wasko and husband, Paul of Blairsville and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wilbur T. Dunlap and Earl H. Dunlap.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Katie Ward Stear officiating.Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Conemaugh Twp., PA.
