Gladys (Brownley) Silvis, 103, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe, PA.The daughter of Harvey and Grace (Emerick) Brownley, she was born January 11, 1908 in Lock Haven, PA.Mrs. Silvis was a volunteer at the Indiana Senior Center until the age of 95.Surviving are a daughter, Rita Walther of Blairsville; four grandchildren, Gary Mongelli, Tamsen DiBlasio, William David Mongelli and Lisa D. Walther; six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond Gould Silvis; a son, Ronald R. Silvis and a brother, Arthur Brownley.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A Prayer service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral Home with Fr. Chester J. Raimer officiating. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA
