Georgia (Price) Ellinger, 89, of Blairsville, PA died peacefully March 14, 2011 in Mesa, Arizona, where she was living for the winter.A daughter of Lewis L. and Emma J. (Steib) Price, she was born December 11, 1921 in DuBois, PA.Georgia was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Blairsville.After graduating high school and business school, she enlisted in the Women's Army Corps and served in India and China during World War II.She worked for Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the personnel department as a secretary, retiring in 1986.Georgia was an avid duplicate bridge player in Pennsylvania and Arizona and was a long-time member of the Indiana Duplicate Bridge Club.She is survived by three daughters, Jacquetta Ellinger of Chicago, Illinois; Susan Ruff and her husband, Jeffrey of Delmont and Kathy Erat and her husband, Steve of Leesburg, Virginia; three grandchildren, Adam Loucks; Molly Borawski and her husband, Teddy and Mark Loucks; and one great-grandchild, her namesake, Gia Quinn Borawski.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas W. Ellinger in 1984 and four siblings, Virginia Johnston, LaVina Johnston, Leslie Price and Arlene Bell.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.Memorial gifts may be sent to the United Presbyterian Church, 137 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA or to CARE.
