Norma Jean (Kenley) Ropp Steeves, 73, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.A daughter of Andrew J. and Elenora C. (McGuire) Kenley, she was born February 20, 1938 in Brenizer, PA.Mrs. Steeves graduated from Derry Township High School in 1956 and was employed by Edgewood Nursing Center, Latrobe, for more than 20 years, retiring in 2001.Surviving are four children, a son, John I. Ropp of Greensburg; three daughters, Debra L. Miner and her husband, Robert of Greensburg; Sue Ann Garris and her husband, James of Brenizer and Cheryl R. Hoe and her husband, Jack of Blairsville; five grandchildren, James Garris, Mark Garris, Scott Hoe, Ryan Hoe and Kaylee Miner and a great grandchild, Gavin Garris.She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John "Jack" Ropp in 1983 and a brother, Melvin Kenley.As per the wishes of Norma, there will be no visitation or service.Private interment will be held at a later date in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
