Robert Charles Klingensmith, Sr., 48, of Homer City, PA passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.The son of Calvin A. and Rita M. (Dosch) Klingensmith, he was born March 30, 1962 in Kittanning, PA.Mr. Klingensmith was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Blairsville; Homer City Volunteer Fire Department and member of the Homer City Borough Council.He graduated from Indiana High School in 1980 and was employed by Lowe's, Indiana, for 12 years.He enjoyed fishing and hunting, playing practical jokes on his friends and was the life of the party. Surviving are his wife, Darla R. (Culp) Klingensmith whom he married June 16, 1984; two sons, Robert C. Klingensmith, Jr. of Josephine and William A. Klingensmith of Homer City; a daughter, Christin R. Klingensmith of Homer City; three brothers, Dennis J. Klingensmith and his wife, Catherine of Buckhannon, WV; Gary A. Klingensmith and his wife, Cathy of Kittanning and Douglas C. Klingensmith and his wife, Jodi of Kittanning; a sister, Lisa G. Zellefrow and friend, Don Dinger of Kittanning; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Darlene Culp of Blairsville; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kevin W. and June Culp of Beaver Creek, OH; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Blairsville, with Rev. John McMannus officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.The Homer City Volunteer Fire Department will have services in the funeral home at 7:30 P.M. Sunday.
