Billijo Marie Akins, 23, of Derry, PA passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2012 in Blairsville, PA.A daughter of William H. and Dianna M. (Hill) Akins, she was born August 11, 1989 in Indiana, PA.Billijo graduated from Blairsville High School, class of 2006 and attended one year at ICTC School of nursing. She had worked as an aide for six years at the Keeper of the Flame, Blairsville.She enjoyed going on long walks.Surviving are her parents, William H. and Dianna M. Akins of Derry; a sister, Kelli Eckenroad and her husband, Paul of Latrobe; a niece, Lilly Eckenroad; maternal grandfather, Wendell Hill of Indiana and several uncles, aunts and cousins.She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Harry "Hank" and Mary Akins and her maternal grandmother, June Hill. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Rusty McClurg officiating.Interment will be private.
