Elizabeth Joann (Kosalko) Avalli, 93, of Blairsville, PA, formerly of Josephine, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Country Living Personal Care Home, Blairsville, PA.A daughter of Michael and Nathalia (Virostek) Kosalko, she was born January 5, 1919 in Black Lick, PA.Mrs. Avalli was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA.Surviving are two children, a son, Charles J. Avalli of Pittsburgh and Cynthia Barbi and her husband, Vincent of Blairsville and five grandchildren, Matthew Barbi, C.J. Avalli, Natalie Dunlap, Krisse Avalli and Stephanie Avalli.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank J. Avalli on June 6, 2007; five brothers, Joseph, Michael, John, Steve and George and two sisters, Mary Miller and Anna Kinkead.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake Service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Sunday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday at SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Family Hospice and Palliative Care of Indiana County, 850 Hospital Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
