Miller T. "Speed" Young, Jr., 81, of Clune, PA passed away on Monday, July 9, 2012. The son of Miller and Mae Young, he was born September 12, 1930 in Avonmore.He was a member of the Union Lodge #259, New Brighton, PAMiller was a Korean War veteran, having served in the Army.He worked for Bell Atlantic-Verizon for 34 years and had been retired for the last 25 years. Miller was a kind and generous man. He was always there for others in time of need and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.Surviving are his loving wife, Linda A. Young; his daughter, Terri Dougherty of New Brighton; his son, Randy of Stuart, FL; a granddaughter, Katie Jo Gongaware; a great grandson, Cayson Gongaware; two sisters, Annabelle DeMaria (Joseph) of Homer City and Barbara "Dolly" Naybor (Joseph) of Avonmore; a brother, James Young (Patty) of Cheswick; a sister-in-law, Myra Young of Rochester. Uncle Speed is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert L. Young and John "Jack" Young.At Miller's request, there will be no viewing or memorial service.
