F. Dorothy (Taylor) Davis, 88, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.A daughter of Francis and Nancy (Blanham) Taylor, she was born October 22, 1923 Black Lick Twp., Indiana Co., PA.Dorothy lived most of her life in Brenizer. She was a member of St. Stephen's AME Church of Latrobe, PA where she served on the trustee and stewardess board and was an assistant Sunday school teacher. She graduated from Blairsville High School in 1941and worked as an LPN for 31 years at Torrance State Hospital, retiring in 1980. She leaves to mourn, James, a beloved and devoted best friend; a sister, Rose Eddins and her husband, Clyde of Latrobe; John and Paulette Taylor of Fort Washington, MD; two sisters-in-law, Marcie Taylor of Latrobe and Sherry Taylor of Black Lick and a host of loving nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, William, Charles, Albert and Harry and two sisters, Estella Taylor and Sarah Brown. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Prudence L. Harris officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
