George Muka, 83, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.A son of Metro and Anna (Chuluck) Muka, he was born April 3, 1928 in Forbes Road, PA.Mr. Muka was of the catholic faith and enjoyed playing cards.He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.He worked at Blairsville Machine Products Company for many years, retiring in 1990.Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Irene Rose (Oslosky) Mikeska Muka whom he married on October 8, 1988 and her five children, John Mikeska (Patti) of Millersville, MD; Joseph Mikeska (Kimberly) of Greensburg; Nancy Elliott of Blairsville; Edward Mikeska (Nancy) of Hillside and Irene Prengaman (Jim) of Pleasant Unity; 11 grandchildren, Jamie O'Neal (Glen); Jonathan Mikeska (Alison); Mandee Mizikar (Matthew); Michelle Ruby (Frank); Melissa Dinsmore (Joel); Tyler Elliott; Matthew Mikeska (Katie); Brandon Mikeska (Sarah); Ivy, Laurel and Blaze Prengaman and 13 great grandchildren, Rowan, Julia, Maxwell, Reese, Morgan, Kaylee, Sydney, Zachary, Emma, Koby, Raui, Laila and Maizy; his son, Dennis W. Funk (Deborah) of Derry and their three daughters, Donna Schroth (Dave) of Blairsville; Mary Funk of Blairsville and Amy Dominick (Bob) of Derry and seven grandchildren, Matthew, Tim and Beth Schroth, Makayla Thomas and Chelsea, Emily and Danielle Dominick and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Irene Clara (Ghessie) Muka on May 27, 1986; six brothers, Charles, Stephen, John, Mike, Frank and Pete and four sisters, Mary, Ann, Helen and Sophie.The family extends a special thank you to Maggie and Connie and all who cared for him during his time at St. Andrew's Village. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Saturday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A Blessing service will be held at 8:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Fr. William Kiel officiating.Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.Military services will be accorded by Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion Post #0407Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Village, 1155 Indian Springs Road, Indiana, PA 15701.
