Hazel June (Reeger) Smith, 86, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.A daughter of Clair and Florence (Ferguson) Reeger, she was born June 29, 1925 in Blacklick Twp., PA.Mrs. Smith was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Blairsville, where she served as a deacon and was also a member of Blairsville Chapter #166 Order of the Eastern Star.She worked as a housekeeper for the Chick family.Surviving are a nephew, Donald Sharp of Clarksburg and two nieces, Fay Ruby of Clarksburg and Linda Sharp of Blairsville.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul A. Smith in 1999; a brother, George Reeger and a sister, Mary Ellen Sharp.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday at the United Presbyterian Church, Blairsville, with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe and Rev. Dr. Roger D. Petersen co-officiating.Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, PA.
