Mary Lou (Kolish) Metalla, 80, of Black Lick, PA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.The daughter of Walter and Anna (Kolek) Kolish, she was born September 3, 1931 in Brush Valley, PA.Mrs. Metalla worked at FMC in Homer City and was a homemaker.She married Francis Metalla on September 30, 1951 at St. Louis Church, Lucernemines.She had a heart of gold. She enjoyed being with her family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Francis D. Metalla; five children, Daniel Metalla and Jen of Mt. Pleasant, MI; Frank Metalla and his wife, Betsy of Palmertown; David Metalla and Tracy of Homer City; Cathy Suman and her husband, Bill of Palmertown and Connie Pividori of Black Lick; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Bill Kolish of Indiana; a brother-in-law, Ed Hayward of Munhall and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Stanley, Eddie, Chester and Joey Kolish and three sisters, Stella Lambing, Helen Hayward and Ann Sipos.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Blessing service will be held at 8:00 P.M. Tuesday with Fr. Terry Hercik officiating.Interment will be in St. Louis Cemetery, Lucernemines.
