Charlotte DeMarines, 97, of Black Lick, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at her residence.The daughter of Peter and Mary (Alnovi) Bernini, she was born January 23, 1914 in Socialville, PA.Mrs. DeMarines was a member St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (Palmerton) and St. Francis Catholic Church (Coral) now Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral site. She was very active as a member of the Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Burrell Township Ladies Auxiliary.Her hobbies included reading, traveling and playing cards as a member of several card clubs. She traveled to Italy on five occasions, including visits to her cousins in Parma, Italy.Surviving are her three children, Joanne Joyce of Rochester, NY; Victor DeMarines of Bonita Beach, FL and Ron DeMarines of Bethesda, MD; 10 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren; and a sister, Della Bukosky of North Tonawanda, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Victor A. DeMarines whom she married on September 23, 1933 and passed away on January 4, 1990; three sisters, Emma Benamati, Jane Gallo and Pearl Signorino.The family will receive from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A Prayer service will be held at 9:30 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral site, with Fr. Terry Hercik as celebrant.Interment will follow in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
