Anna Louise "Mickey" (Michel) Roble, 88, of Latrobe, PA passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.The daughter of Ernest and Lillian I. (Burkley) Michel, she was born August 20, 1923 in Columbus, OH.She graduated from Blairsville High School in 1942 and went on to work at Kennametal. She was married in 1945 and raised her eight children. When her husband died suddenly she went back to work at Toyad in Latrobe. After her retirement, she also worked at Kenney's Bar and Papa Sal's in Blairsville.She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Latrobe Senior Center, American Legion #515 Auxiliary, St. Vincent Society, Golden Agers of Latrobe, honorary member of the Khe San Veterans Assn. and was a Gold Star Mother.Mickey was an avid traveler who visited at least 28 of our 50 states, Mexico, most of the countries in Europe and also had the need to travel to Viet Nam.In these past years she enjoyed playing bingo with her many friends at the Latrobe Senior Center, American Legion, 5th Ward Fire hall and St. Vincent Grove. She also loved attending mass at Holy Family Catholic Church. Her biggest love, next to God, was her family.By the grace of God, she will join above, her husband, William Matthew Roble who passed in 1971, her sons, Joseph Edward Roble, posthumous Bronze Star awardee who was killed in 1968 in the Viet Nam conflict and William Arthur "Bumper" Roble who passed away while exploring in Peru in 2008. Also, her parents and a stepsister, Lorena Fisher.She is survived by the following children who she taught how to smile and stay strong through tragedy, Matthew Roble and his wife, Kathleen of West Chester; Steven Roble of Colorado Springs, CO; Ann Louise Roble of Latrobe; Toni Apryasz and her husband, Stush of Blairsville; Rita K. Roble of Latrobe and Beth Sundaram and her husband, Suyra of Colorado Springs, CO; her grandchildren who will have the wonderful memory of a very involved grandmother, Charlie Roble, Joseph Roble, Holly Best, Raymond Apryasz, Joshua Apryasz, Eric Roble, Daniel Roble, Dhaminika Sundaram, Chandra Sundaram and Dhena Sundaram. She had five great grandchildren who will miss their precious "GiGi", Maria and Jaxin Roble and Cecilia, Tyson and Finley Grace Best.Rest now, Mummy, we've got it from here.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake Service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Sunday.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Latrobe, PA with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Latrobe, PA.Latrobe American Legion Auxiliary Unit #515 will hold a Memorial Service in the funeral home on Sunday at 3:00 P.M.
