Steven M. Kovach, Jr., 69, of Latrobe, PA formerly of Brenizer, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.A son of Steven Michael and Anna Marie (Denkovich) Kovach, he was born January 26, 1942 in Tyler, PA.Mr. Kovach worked as a cook at Torrance State Hospital.He was veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the Air Force.Surviving are his wife, Gladys; three brothers, John J. Kovach of Latrobe; Daniel T. Kovach of Cleveland, OH and Michael E. Kovach of Chandler, AZ and a sister, Pauline Cochran of Cleveland, OH.He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David C. Kovach in 1963 and a sister, Mary Ann Kovach on October 8, 2011.There will be no visitation.A Blessing Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc. 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA with Fr. Terry Hercik officiating.Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery, Sandy Twp., Clearfield Co., PA.Military services will be accorded by Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and American Legion Post #0407.
