John Michael Duff, Sr., 56, of Blairsville, PA (Derry Twp.) passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.A son of Robert E. Duff, Sr. and Josephine (Schafer) Duff, he was born November 8, 1956 in New Alexandria, PA.John graduated from Derry Area High School in 1974 and was employed by R&L Development, New Alexandria, PA.He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #66.John enjoyed farming and was very active with the Derry Township Agricultural Fair.He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Surviving are a son, John M. Duff, Jr. (Rachel) of Derry; two daughters, Melissa A. Monticue (Jason) of Latrobe and Jaime L. Reid (Joshua) of Derry; his father, Robert E. Duff, Sr. of Blairsville; eight grandchildren, Dakota Bowers, Austin Bowers, Devin Bowers, Kyleigh Reid, Haley Duff, Ashlynn Reid, Madison Duff and Charlotte Reid; a brother, Robert E. Duff, Jr. of Blairsville; two sisters, Betty Ann Duff of Blairsville and Janet K. Wenhold (Kenneth) of Blairsville; his beloved dog, Hannah and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Duff; his wife, Charlene G. (Lloyd) Duff on April 16, 2012 and his stepmother, JoAnn Duff.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Sockman officiating.Interment will be in Coles Cemetery, Derry, PA.
