Sophie Cramer, 92, of Yorktown, VA formerly of Blairsville, PA passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012 in Virginia.A daughter of John and Sophie (Dickton) Nowinski, she was born July 28, 1920 in Black Lick, PA.Sophie was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses for 72 years, first in the Blairsville Congregation and then the Denbigh South Congregation in Newport News, VA.She enjoyed gardening and was known for her flower and vegetable gardens.Sophie was a devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandparent, her family was her world. She was a loyal servant of her God Jehovah and served him faithfully until her death. Sophie was loved by all who knew her and will be fondly remembered for her happy disposition, kind smiles and even kinder spirit.She is survived by her sister, Viola Phillippi of Boston, MA; her daughter, Sharon Berger and husband, Glenn of Monroeville; her son, K. Elliott Cramer and wife, Cheryl of Yorktown, VA; as well as two grandchildren, Lisa Cartiff of Cheswick and Noah Cramer of Yorktown, VA.She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Karl E. Cramer in 1990; two brothers, John and Edward Nowinski and two sisters, Josephine Nowinski and Elsie Romanski.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Newport New, VA. A graveside service will be held ay 3:00 P.M. Friday in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA with Richard Mazon presiding.The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Denbigh South Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
