Vera Irene Penatzer, 78, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL formerly of Blairsville, PA passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Harbor Beach Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.A daughter of William F. and Patience Rose (Stock) Penatzer, she was born, April 7, 1934 in Blairsville.Vera was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville.She worked as a secretary for 31 years at FMC, retiring in 1991.Surviving are a brother, Leo Penatzer of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and a niece, Lisa Aho of Coconut Creek, FL.She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Mary Penatzer.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville where a Wake service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Wednesday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville.
