Todd Russell Quick, 49, of Latrobe, PA went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 28, 2013 at his home. The son of Russell G. and Kathryn L. (Murray) Quick, he was born July 26, 1964 in Indiana, PA. Todd graduate from Blairsville High School in 1982 and from the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He formerly worked for Sikorsky Aircraft, Hamden, CT and has worked the last 23 years for Kennametal, Inc. as an Associate Engineer. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Ligonier, loved music and enjoyed golfing in the Kennametal Golf League and at the Champion Lakes Golf course. Todd was an avid Pittsburgh Penguin fan and volunteered many years for the Mario Lemieux Foundation Golf Tournament. Surviving are his loving wife, Amy C. (Hegan) Quick whom he married June 8, 1996; father and mother, Russell and Kathy Quick of Blairsville; sister, Diana "Dee" Cavender and her husband, Scott of Blairsville; father-in-law, Gerald R. Hegan of Ligonier; five nephews, Channing Cavender, Carrick Cavender, Matthew Hegan, Michael Scaffardi and Brandon Smolka; two nieces, Kristin Johnston and Marina Scaffardi and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mildred M. Hegan; maternal grandparents, Gilbert and E. Louise (Simpson) Murray and paternal grandparents, William J. and Ruth H. (Greene) Quick. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A celebration of Todd's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. William Pieringer and Rev. Ardyth Hill co-officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Laughlintown, PA.Memorial contributions may be made to the Mario Lemieux Foundation. GOD FIRST, GO PENS!
