Miriam O. (Holby) Bizub, 81, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.The daughter of William F. and Hazel I. (McElhoes) Holby, she was born December 27, 1931 in Strangford, PA.Miriam graduated from Blairsville High School in 1949, was a very active member of the Strangford United Methodist Church and a member of IBEW Local #1096, Blairsville.She worked 38 years for Westinghouse Specialty Metals, Blairsville, retiring in 1993.She enjoyed being with her family.Surviving are her daughter, Carol Holcomb (Daniel) of Erie; four grandchildren, Christopher Schroyer, Renee Grosso, Chad Schroyer and Jennifer Schroyer and six great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents and a great grandson, Timothy Carr Jr. in 1992.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Brett M. Dinger officiating.Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, West Wheatfield Twp., PA.
