Ronald Merle Snyder, 76, of Black Lick, PA passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at his home surrounded by family and friends.The son of H. Merle and Marie (Bell) Snyder, he was born January 18, 1937 in Brush Valley, PA.Ron graduated from Blairsville High School in 1955. He worked as a young man at Isaly's in Blairsville and prior to his retirement, he worked for Derry Westinghouse for 25 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends, cookouts, hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycles, playing Texas Hold'em and going to the casinos.Surviving are his wife, Ruth M. (Smith) Snyder whom he married on March 24, 1957; three sons, Rick Snyder (Kelly) of Black Lick; Randy Snyder (Sheary) of Armagh and Ron Snyder (Cathy) of Lucernemines; 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Greg and Mark Snyder; a daughter, Cheryl McConnell; a grandson, Jeremy Snyder and two brothers, Larry and Jerry Snyder.A very special thank you to his best friend, Robert Buggey, for all his help during Ron's illness.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the funeral home with his grandson, Rev. Jason McConnell officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA
