James Robert Hebenthal, 64, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at his home.A son of Dale V. and Sara M. (Griffith) Hebenthal, he was born September 10, 1949 in Blairsville, PA.Jim was a veteran of the Army and retired in 2012 from Superior Well Services, Black Lick as a fleet manager.He was a member of the UMWA #1257, New Florence.Jim loved hunting, working on the farm and was a very kind person and would help anyone.Surviving are his special friend, Lylia Romanish of Blairsville; three daughters, Carla Mowery (Brian) of New Florence; Jill Secorie of Bolivar and Janice Hebenthal of Robinson; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; seven brothers, Donald D. Hebenthal (Donna) of Homer City; Larry A. Hebenthal of Johnstown; William L. Hebenthal (Lori) of Blairsville; David L. Hebenthal (Karen) of Brush Valley; John W. Hebenthal (Kathi) of Derry; Kirk V. Hebenthal of Jeannette and Dennis E. Hebenthal of Blairsville; six sisters, Bonnie L. Confer (Nelson) of Connellsville; Diane M. Shirey(Bruce) of Youngstown; Brenda M. Fairchild (Reuben) of Blairsville; Marlene J. Kerley (Tom) of Blairsville; Darlene S. Cowan (Timothy) of Blairsville and Rebecca J. Snyder (Robert) of Penn Run; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maryann in 2005; a brother, Ronald D. in 1980 and an infant brother, Daniel E.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Nelson Confer officiating.Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and American Legion Post #0407.
