W. John Adair, 66, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.The son of George and Ellen (Chapell) Adair, he was born July 25, 1946 in Indiana, PA.Mr. Adair attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Blairsville and was a member of the Coral-Graceton Sportsmen's Club.He loved hunting and fishing with his sons and grandchildren.He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and worked for Housing Action, Indiana, retiring in 2006.Surviving are his wife, Faith L. (Smith) Adair whom he married on July 15, 1967; two sons, William J. Adair II of Blairsville and Daniel C. Adair (Ashley) of Blairsville; three daughters, Stacey Zayac (Tim) of Homer City; Johnna Brant (Ron) of Blairsville and Jennifer Valuchuck (Edward) of Blairsville; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Dan Adair (Florence) of Saltsburg; three sisters, Jean Tanner, Judy Zofchak and Tanya Davis, all of Homer City and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tim Adair in 1991; a brother, Robert and two sisters, Dorothy and Sarah.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Saturday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home with Rev. John McMannus officiating.Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana, PA.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legions Post #0407.
