Leslie H. Barnhouse, 78, of Indiana, PA passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.The son of Ray M. and Sarah A. (Lovejoy) Barnhouse, he was born October 2, 1934 in Painesville, Ohio.Mr. Barnhouse was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux, Indiana, and UMWA Local #488, Homer City.He enjoyed working hard and loved to make things beautiful for his family.He worked 22 years for Helen Mining Company, retiring in 1988.Surviving are his wife, Margaret A. (Korich) Platt Barnhouse whom he married February 11, 1984; three children, Theresa Seidel of Burlington, Wisconsin; Ronald Barnhouse (Jackie) of Greensburg and Raymond Barnhouse of Maryland; a stepson, Ralph Christopher Platt (Bethany) of Bremerton, Washington; six grandchildren, Jacob Barnhouse, Ashley Turek, Shannon Hertz, Seth Seidel, Kurtis and Konnor Platt and two great grandchildren, Kolton and Kalob Turek.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David.A private visitation will be held at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Bernard of Clairvaux, Indiana, with Fr. William J. Kiel as celebrant.Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
