Susan Jane (Giffen) Stitt, 88, of Black Lick, PA passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.The daughter of William C. and Hazel (Nicol) Giffen, she was born July 16, 1924 in Latrobe, PA.Mrs. Stitt was a member of the Black Lick United Methodist Church and the Black Lick Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. Prior to her retirement in 1987, she was employed by Bon-Ton.Surviving are a son, Richard K. Stitt of Blairsville; two daughters, Mary Ann Alexander and her husband, James of Black Lick and Karen Gamble of Black Lick; five grandchildren, Lori Hebenthal, Amy Ball, Becky Enos, Shannon Falcone and Kerry Gamble; seven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and a brother, John C. Giffen of Latrobe.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas M. Stitt in 1964; two sisters, Margaret Louise "Peggy" Giffen and Mary ShowalterThe family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Brett M. Dinger officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
