Marshall Eugene Lyons, 71, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family.A son of Robert W. and Catherine A. (Frew) Lyons, he was born December 15, 1941 in Salina, PA.Mr. Lyons was a fan of NASCAR and a lifelong lover of horses.He was employed by Blairsville Machine Products for 20 years, retiring in 1995.Surviving are his wife, Mary E. (Malnofski) Lyons whom he married October 11, 1964; a son, Robert E. Lyons of New Alexandria; a daughter, Cynthia A. Krolick of Aliquippa; his grandson, the joy of his life, Robert D. Lyons of Blairsville; a brother, Edward B. Lyons of Tennessee; four sisters, Janie Joseph of Jeannette; Charlotte Youngkins (Richard) of Freeport; Sue Vomero (Jon) of Lodi, NJ and Mitzi Lyons of Latrobe; a very special nephew, John Lauffer of Latrobe and numerous other nieces and nephews; and his special dogs, Sadie and Daisy.He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert "Buck" Lyons and William Lyons and two sisters, Catherine "Kitty" Chisko and Inez DeMatteo.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home with Chaplain James Yates officiating.Interment will be in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, PA.
