Torrence Allen Schrack, 79, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Monday, November 22, 2010 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.A son of Leslie and Edith (Rankin) Schrack, he was born October 11, 1931 in Blairsville, PA.Mr. Schrack attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Blairsville and was a member of the Westinghouse Veterans Association.He was a Korean War veteran, having served in the US Army.Mr. Schrack was employed for 37 years at Westinghouse Specialty Metals, Blairsville, retiring in 1992.He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors with his familySurviving are his wife, Daunice M. (Kim) Schrack whom he married November 24, 1956; three sons, Mark Schrack (Pauline); Michael Schrack (Terry) and Tracy Schrack (Michelle), all of Blairsville; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer Schrack, Lee Ann Schrack, Anna Schrack, Samantha Schrack, Melissa Schrack, Eric Schrack, Michael R. Schrack, Nicole Schrack, Gabrielle Schrack, Chelsie Zunick, Stephen Gazzo and Vinnie Gazzo; six great grandchildren and a sister Norabell Jones of Blairsville.He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Rankin.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. John McMannus and Rev. Charles L. O'Brien co-officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion Post #0407.
