Steven Andrew Nahalka, Sr., 100, of Black Lick, PA passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at his home.A son of Mike and Anna (Barna) Nahalka, he was born July 28, 1910 in Luciusboro, PA.Mr. Nahalka was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption, Coral.He worked for Bethlehem Steel, Johnstown for 27 years.Surviving are a son, Stephen A. Nahalka and his wife, Patricia of Blairsville; two daughters, Mary Ann Gurgon and her husband, Louis of Palmerton and Margaret Dilts and her husband, Cecil of Black Lick; son-in-law, Roger Pierce of Somerset, OH; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Dilts, Cecil Dilts, Jr., Joseph Huber, Jr., John Huber, JoAnne Gurgon, Christopher Pierce, Charlotte Locke and Mary Clark; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a sister, Mary Connley of Ohio.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Charlotte A. (Kellar) Nahalka on April 10, 1995; a daughter, Betty Pierce and two sisters, Margaret Oswald and Ellen Durvin. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday in Our Lady of the Assumption, Coral, with Fr. Terry Hercik as celebrant.Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Coral.
