Joyce Gayle (Fyock) West, 67, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.A daughter of Royden Edgar and Sylvia (Barger) Fyock, she was born February 15, 1943 in Evans Landing, IN.Mrs. West was a member of the Independent Baptist Church, Blairsville.She graduated from Indiana Area High School in 1961. She worked for Fisher Scientific and for the last 30 years she was the custodian at the Independent Baptist Church.Surviving are her husband, Paul A. West, whom she married May 29, 1965; a son, Gregory Paul West and his wife, Rebecca of Johnstown; three daughters, Michele Kerr and her husband, Daniel of Blairsville; Bethann Buchanan and her husband, Jeremy of Derry; Rosemary Kirkpatrick and her husband, Anthony of Delaware, OH; seven grandchildren, Keisha, Ben, Joshua, Michael, Kathryn, Hope and Madalynne; five brothers, James Richard Fyock and his wife, Deana of Valpariso, IN; Darrell Lee Fyock and his wife, Judy of Chesterton, IN; Vernon Philip Fyock and his wife, Chris of Michigan; Alfred Neil Fyock and his wife, Nicole of Johnstown and Carl Royden Fyock and his wife, Tammy of Indiana, PAShe was preceded in death by her parents; twin granddaughters, Emma Lou and Emma Sue Kerr and infant boy Kerr.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Independent Baptist Church, Blairsville, PA with Pastor Doug McCord officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
