Wayne Allen Glance, Sr., 57 of Black Lick, PA passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh, PA.A son of Robert Glance Sr. and Betty Lawson, he was born September 27, 1952 in White Twp., PA.Mr. Glance was a dedicated member of the Black Lick Volunteer Fire Dept. for over 20 years and member of Blairsville FOE #1488.He was an avid demolition driver for many years, driving car #18.He loved hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren and enjoyed being with family and friends, especially his uncle, Bo Glance and his dog, Paige.He worked as a grounds keeper for 20 years at Chestnut Ridge Golf Course, Blairsville.Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Helen M. (Gibbons) Glance, who cared for him lovingly the last six years; two sons, Wayne A. Glance Jr. of Dilltown and Scotty Lee Glance and his wife, Heather of Homer City and a daughter, Angela Sue Nicholson and her husband, Brian of Homer City; eight grandchildren, Chris, Dee and Evan Nicholson, Anthony Kline Glance, Brent Kline Glance, Austin, Nathaniel and Breanna Glance; mother, Betty Lawson of Homer City; five brothers, Matt Lawson and his wife, Beth of Indiana; Allen Lawson of Indiana, Skip Lawson of Homer City; Buddy Lawson of Indiana; Robbie Glance and his wife, Melanie of Black Lick and a sister, Connie "Sis" Griffen and her husband, Jerry of Homer City.He was preceded in death by his father; grandmother, Olive Guiste and an uncle, Bo Glance.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday.Interment will be in Luther Chapel Cemetery, Coral.
