Helen (Chakot) Boros, 88, of Indiana, PA formerly of Black Lick passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the home of her daughter, Marjorie Yarnick-Huey, Indiana.A daughter of Peter and Ella (Tatura) Chakot, she was born April 15, 1922 in Brenizer, PA.Mrs. Boros lived most of her life in the Black Lick area. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Black Lick and graduated from Blairsville High School in 1940.She worked for Campus Sportswear, Indiana, for 15 years, retiring in 1968.Surviving are her children, Marjorie Yarnick-Huey and husband, Edward of Indiana and George R. Boros and wife, Shirley of Blairsville; four grandchildren, Ronald V. Yarnick, Frederick G. Yarnick and wife, Cheryl, Gregory G. Boros and wife, Suzy and Julie Ann Kriley and husband, Phillip; seven great grandchildren; 10 great step-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a sister, Mary "Margie" Waters of Erie and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Boros Jr. on June 29, 1985; a granddaughter, Tracy Yarnick; three sisters, Anna Rudik, Ella Fedoruk and Mary Chakot and six brothers, George Tarasovich, John Tarasovich, Frank Chakot, Michael Chakot, Peter Chakot Jr. and Paul Chakot.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Parastas service will be held at 7 P.M. Friday. A Burial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Black Lick, PA with Rt. Rev. Archimandrite Pitirim (Stehnach) officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
