H. James "Spanky" Patz, 52, of Blairsville, PA (West Wheatfield Twp.) passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at UPMC Oakland, Pittsburgh, PA.A son of Harold E. and Dorothy J. (Trenney) Patz, he was born September 24, 1957 in Latrobe, PA.Jim graduated from Derry Area High School in 1976 and worked as a well tender for Penneco Oil Company, Delmont, PA.He was a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville.He enjoyed wood working and spending time with his family.Surviving are his wife, Cathy E. (Brown) Patz whom he married on June 23, 1995; his mother, Dorothy J. Patz of Blairsville; three children, Jason E. Patz of Derry, Kayla A. Brown of Blairsville and Justin L. Patz of Derry; a brother, Bruce E. Patz and his wife, Cindy of Blairsville; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wally and Peg Brown of Blairsville and several aunts, uncles and cousins.He was preceded in death by his father, Harold E. in 1992 and numerous aunts and uncles.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Beverly J. Banyay officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
