Joseph Glenn Fleming, 96, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Friday, January 22, 2010 in the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.The son of Harvey T. and Mary Z. (Bergman) Fleming, he was born January 29, 1913 in Black Lick Twp., PA.Mr. Fleming was a member of the Blairsville United Presbyterian Church were he was an elder and member of the Men's Sunday School Class. He was, also, a member of the VFW Post #5821, Blairsville Grange #2012, Blairsville Kiwanis Club and the Carpenters Local #2274, Pittsburgh.He was a US Army veteran of World War II.He was employed by Latrobe Construction, retiring in 1975. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Lillian Mae (Sechler) Fleming, whom he married May 30, 1942; two sons, James G. Fleming and Thomas R. Fleming, both of Pittsburgh; four daughters, Glenda Pelle and her husband, Joseph of South Lake, TX; Judy Towsey and her husband, Jim of New Britain; Carol Nakles and her husband, Bill Haley of Pittsburgh; and Joanne Paouncic and her husband, Jack of Blairsville; 11 grandchildren, David Towsey, Dana Ellington, Michelle Hoak, Nicole Garrity, Joseph S. Pelle, Suzanne Atwood, Matthew Fleming, Lindsay Nakles, Lauren Nakles, Nathan Paouncic and Jacob Paouncic and nine great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Norman, Alva, Paul and William Fleming and two sisters, Marie Hilliard and Naomi "Dot" Irwin.The family will receive friends from 12 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday in the United Presbyterian Church, Blairsville, with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
