L. Glenn Geyer, 83, of Clarksburg, PA passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2009 at his home.The son of Earl Ai and Annie (Muthler) Geyer, he was born November 23, 1926 in Wall, PA.Mr. Geyer was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Blairsville, and the Young of Heart Group of the church. He also attended the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, Lewisville. He was a member and officer of the Blairsville Grange #2012, member of Indiana County Pomona Grange #58, state and national grange. He visited most all states and enjoyed traveling to the Panama Canal, Alaska and hiking the Grand Canyon.Mr. Geyer graduated in 1944 from Westinghouse Memorial High School, Wilmerding and was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War.He was a self-employed dairy farmer his entire life and was a member of various farm organizations.Surviving are his wife, Lois J. (Marshall) Geyer to whom he married September 9, 1983; sister-in-law, Pastor Barbara Geyer of Willcox, Arizona and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Ellen Hughes and brothers, Fred, Harry and Lloyd and several infant brothers.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Saturday in the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home with Rev. Terry Shaffer officiating.Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Lewisville, PA.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion #0407.Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association, 850 Hospital Road, Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
