Carl Edward White, 58, of Southington, Connecticut passed away on Monday, November 23, 2009 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.The son of Ira C. and Ruth (Gray) White, he was born March 2, 1951 in Latrobe, PA.Mr. White graduated from Derry Area High School in 1968 and from Edinboro University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in speech and hearing.He was a member of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity, 32nd degree mason, New Haven Consistory #7 and Arabic Temple #40.Surviving are his parents of Blairsville (Brenizer); his wife, Kathryn A. (Funyak) White to whom he married May 5, 1973; a daughter, Stacy Tarfano and her husband, Adam of Southington, Connecticut; a son, Eric White of Rocky Hill, Connecticut; two grandchildren, Marcus and Maren Tarfano and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah White in 2002 and his maternal and paternal grandparents.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday in the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Edward Carter officiating.Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
