Kevin Lee Garland, Jr., 24, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital at Jeannette, Jeannette, PA.The son of Kevin L. Garland, Sr. and Jamie L. (Becker) Garland, he was born September 24, 1985 in Philadelphia, PA.Kevin was a member of the First Baptist Church, Blairsville.He graduated from Blairsville High School in 2004 and played football for the Bobcats.He played hockey at Marion Center High, enjoyed working on his car and motorcycles and loved his tattoos.He had worked as a welder for General Fabricating Services, LLC.Surviving are his mother of Blairsville; a sister, Katrina Garland of Brownsburg, Indiana; maternal grandparents, Harold and Dora Becker of Jeannette; paternal grandmother, Donna Loughner of Jeannette and his paternal great grandmother, Betty Garland of Jeannette.He was preceded in death by his father on May 1, 2004.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Friday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Saturday in the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Sunday in the First Baptist Church, Blairsville, with Rev. Cory A. Braatz officiating.Private interment will be in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, PA.Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
