Martha Jean (Crayne) Richards, 82, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA.The daughter of James Ewing and Rose M. (Smith) Crayne, she was born November 9, 1926 in Lippincott, PA.Mrs. Richards graduated in 1944 from Jefferson High School, Waynesburg, PA.She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was always eager to help other people.Surviving are two sons, Thomas K. Richards and wife, Georgia of Hershey and James A. Richards of Blairsville; two daughters, Erika Wilford and husband, Richard of Pittsburgh and Denise Patterson of Altoona; two grandchildren, Hanna and Kevin Wilford; a great-grandchild, Chase Bandremier; two sisters, Patricia Neshta of Hicksville, NY and Mary Lamb of Galion, OH.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wesley "Ted" Richards in 1987; two brothers, James and William and a sister, Rose Smith.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the funeral home with Rev. Cory A. Braatz officiating.Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
