Leroy Arthur Duncan, 79 of Black Lick, PA passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.The son of Arthur and Vernie (Howard) Duncan, he was born October 9, 1929 in Black Lick, PA.Mr. Duncan worked for 20 years at Vale Tech, Blairsville, retiring in 1993.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and camping.Surviving are his wife, Ruth A. (Fisher) Duncan, to whom he married August 19, 1950; five daughters, Ruth Ann Stiles and her husband, Wayne of Black Lick; Shirley Johnson and her husband, Bruce of Indiana; Sandy Elliott and her husband, Rick of Indiana; Debbie Henrickson and her husband, Jim of Tide and Vicki Blattenberger of Blairsville; four grandchildren, Tina Eckert, Brenda Bubonic, Jamie Henrickson and Krissy Johnson; one great grandchild, Travis Eckert; one brother, Arthur Duncan of Black Lick; six sisters, Sally Buzznotti and her husband, Jim of Black Lick; Mary Ellen Miller of Black Lick; Pearl Stitt of Black Lick; Ethel Bailey of New Florence; Nora Jean Krouse of Clymer and Velma Deemer of Black Lick.He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cindy Duncan; a grandson, Jeffrey Blattenberger; a brother, Clarence Duncan and a sister, Lillian Duncan.The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Saturday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Fred W. Craig officiating.Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville.
