Jacob Lee Conrad, 79, of Blairsville, PA (Burrell Twp.) passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at his home.The son of Daniel F. and Edna V. (Moyer) Conrad, he was born April 2, 1930 in Graceton, PA.Mr. Conrad was a member of the Harvest Assembly Church, Derry, and the Promise Keepers.He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and retired in 1991 from FMC, Blairsville.He enjoyed hunting and spending time in his garden.Surviving are his wife, Alice M. (Dunmire) Conrad whom he married on June 30, 1956; two sons, Daniel L. Conrad and wife, Kathy of Blairsville and David L. Conrad and wife, Val of Blairsville; five grandchildren, Ben Smith, Michael Conrad, Michele Mucci, Josh Conrad and Jeremy Conrad; two great grandchildren; a brother, Ernest Conrad of Homer City and a sister Oma Reeger of Black Lick.He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carol McFarland; three brothers, Wayne, Lester and Merle Conrad; three sisters, Elma Louise Conrad, Aldene Conrad and Bertha Olechovski.As per Jake's wishes, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
