Rita (Marron) Wagner, 88, of Chicago, IL passed away on Friday, June 19, 2009 in Chicago, IL.The daughter of John and Margaret (Devers) Marron, she was born March 2, 1921 in Andrico, PA.Mrs. Wagner was a member of St. Agnes Church, Chicago Heights, IL and was a former member of St. Mary Parish, Rockville, MD. She was also a member of the A.A.U.W., M.A.A., Sports Car Club of America, Porsche Club of Washington and the Washington Rally Club.She graduated from Derry Twp. High School in 1937 and from Seton Hill College in 1941 with a degree in mathematics. She pursued her career as a graduate assistant at the University of Maryland, later becoming a mathematician with the United States Navy. She taught in the Diocesan elementary schools and for the Montgomery County Public Schools. In 1973, the same year in which she received her Master of Arts degree in political science from Hood College, Rita became secretary-treasurer for TCG, Inc., her husband's semi-conductor equipment and support company. She was also very active in her community. She was past President of the Rockville American Assoc. of University Women, she volunteered as a facilitator for the RENEW program at St. Mary's Church, served on the Rockville Library Board, the Animal Control Board of Rockville and as secretary for the Montgomery County Tuberculosis and Heart Association. Her dedication earned her a bronze medal from the American Heart Assoc. She received the "Distinguished Alumna Award" at a presentation dinner at Seton Hill University in 2001.Surviving are three children, Ann Brandon and husband, Larry of Chicago, IL; James Wagner and wife, Barbara of Washington. D.C. and Daniel Wagner and wife, Regina of Haddonfield, NJ; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four brothers, John Marron Jr. and wife, Martha of Blairsville; Joseph C. Marron and wife, Gloria of Blairsville; Robert Marron and wife, Velma of Hilton, NY and Theodore Marron and wife, Nancy of Frederick, MD and a sister, Margaret Isabelle Shirley of Lima, NY.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, T.C.G. Wagner; a brother, Patrick and two sisters, Rosemary Laughlin and Ruth Hill.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Wednesday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at SS Simon & Jude R.C. Church with Fr. Chester J.
