Gerald K. Mack, 77, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.The son of Ira Kenneth and Mary (Findley) Mack, he was born October 6, 1931 in Johnstown, PA.Mr. Mack was a member of Acacia Lodge #355 F&AM, Blairsville, Altoona Consistory, Jaffa Shrine, Indiana County Shrine Club, where he served as president in 1998, Robinson VFW Post #9210 and BPOE# 406, Blairsville.He was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the Korean War.He worked for Bud Davis Trucking, Black Lick, retiring in 1989.Surviving are a son, Robert A. and wife, Shelba of Lake Mary, FL; a daughter, Linda D. Lear and husband, Paul of Robinson; former wife, Burnell (Shetler) Mack of Robinson; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and a sister Rosemary McDowell of Indiana.He was preceded in death by his parents.The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 P.M. Sunday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. John Hodge officiating.Interment will be in Fort Palmer Cemetery, Fairfield Twp., PA.Masonic services will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:00 P.M.Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion Post #0407.
