Santina A. Tedeschi, 87, of Black Lick, PA passed away on Monday, June 1, 2009 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.The daughter of Pietro and Louisa (Bergenti) Tedeschi, she was born January 6, 1922 in Josephine, PA.Santina was of the catholic faith.She graduated from Blairsville High School in 1940 and was a member of the Homer City American Legion.She was a US Army veteran of World War II and retired from the Army as a master sergeant with 20 years of service. She also worked 10 years for the government.Surviving are a sister, Josephine Trimble of Blairsville; 20 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant sister, Della; and sisters, Pauline Beers, Piernia Macchioni, Carmela Benigni-Gallina, Jenny Dellafiora, Nora Mihalik, Verna Yanity and Bertha Dellafiora; brothers, John Tedeschi and Aldo Tedeschi and a niece, Judy Coury.At the request of Santina, there will be no public visitation. Private interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.Military services will be accorded by Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and American Legion Post #0407.Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N.
